Holds light training at Wild Card

MANILA, Philippines – Fighter of the Decade Manny Pacquiao will hold his last training session in Los Angeles at Freddie Roach’s Wild Card Gym on Monday (Tuesday in Manila) before heading to Las Vegas for his welterweight title fight against Shane Mosley this weekend.

According to Sport 360, Pacquiao will spar 2 rounds each with training partners Shan Porter and Rey Beltran before breaking camp in California.

Pacquiao is set to defend his World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight title against Mosley.

After training, Pacquiao and his team will be boarding a custom-designed bus and head out to Las Vegas.

The Filipino champion is expected to be given the customary grand welcome at the lobby of the MGM Grand by Top Rank fight promoter Bob Arum.

Two days before the bout, Pacquiao and Mosley will face the media for the pre-fight press conference.

The fight takes place on Saturday (Sunday in Manila) a day after the official weigh-in.

Pacquiao, the world’s only 8-division champion, has a record of 52 wins, 3 losses and 2 draws.

Mosley, a multi-titled boxer in 3 weight classes, has 46 wins, 6 losses and 1 draw.

Roach, meanwhile, said he will ward off possible efforts by the other camp to affect Pacquiao’s psyche before the fight.

The boxing coach reportedly heard rumors that Mosley’s trainer, Naazim Richardson, intend to complain about Pacquiao’s hand wraps.

“All I hear about is that they’re going to complain about the hand wraps,” said Roach.

“That’s what Naazim’s an expert at and try to get at Manny’s head. I won’t let that happen. I won’t allow that argument,” he added.
