MANILA, Philippines – Mixed martial arts (MMA) light heavyweight champion Jon "Bones" Jones has emerged as the top-earning fighter of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 145 wherein he defeated his former friend Rashad Evans.
Although his paycheck remains far from the multi-million earnings of boxing stars Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr., Jones was still able to take home a considerable sum of $400,000, according to Yahoo! Sports.
Jones dominated Evans in 5 rounds to retain his UFC belt via unanimous decision.
Evans, a former UFC champion himself, settled for $300,000.
Heavyweight fighter Ben Rothwell came in as the third highest-paid fighter in UFC 145, pocketing a $104,000 paycheck aside from a $52,000 win bonus for his victory over Brendan Schaub.
Schaub was given $14,000 for his losing effort.
