Roach says Bradley will taste Pacman’s power

MANILA, Philippines – Freddie Roach has acknowledged the boxing prowess of Timothy Bradley.

But the 52-year-old boxing coach told that Bradley has yet to face a fighter of Manny Pacquiao’s caliber.

"He’s a young and undefeated guy. He’s going to be resilient, of course he’s undefeated, he’s never tasted defeat,” Roach said of Bradley.

“But the thing is, I don’t think he has much of a choice when Manny hits him with his power.”

Bradley, undefeated in 29 fights, will challenge Pacquiao for the WBO welterweight crown on June 9.

He is seen by boxing pundits as a high-risk opponent for the 8-division champion from the Philippines.

Roach, however, is unfazed.

He said the younger Bradley is a slower than Pacquiao.

Roach is also confident that the Filipino champion can handle Bradley’s punching power.

"He (Bradley) is not a great puncher; he’s not a bad puncher, but he’s a little bit slow. Although at 147, his power is going to be a little bit better than at 140, but I don’t think it's really going to be a problem for us."
