MANILA, Philippines – “Filipino Wrecking Machine” Mark Muñoz is returning to mixed martial arts (MMA) action as he headlines an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fight card in July.
UFC announced that the 34-year-old fighter is scheduled to face middleweight fighter Chris Weidman in a 5-round main event of UFC on Fuel TV 4.
The middleweight bout between Muñoz and Weidman will take place on July 11 at a yet-to-be-announced location, according to MMA website Sherdog.
Muñoz has recovered from an elbow injury he sustained while training for his fight in UFC on FOX.
He was supposed to go up against Chael Sonnen but he aggravated an old injury during his preparations.
Muñoz last fought in November 2011 when be pummeled Chris Leben in UFC.
He is undefeated in his last 4 fights and is now looking for a UFC title shot.
