MANILA, Philippines – One day after sealing their quarter-finals match-up, the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters return to action immediately as they kick off their best-of-three series against the Meralco Bolts in the PBA Commissioners Cup Monday at the Araneta Coliseum.

Rain or Shine beat Ginebra Sunday night to seal fourth place and a showdown against the Bolts, who have not played since last week.

“Meralco has been playing well,” RoS coach Yeng Guiao said in a PBA.ph report. “Although we beat them the first time we met them, it wasn’t an easy game for us.”

Guiao admitted that his team is “a little tired” to be playing their second game in as many nights, but is counting on adrenaline to give the E-Painters a boost.

“I guess it’s just the adrenaline which is going to pump us up and give us energy in the game,” said Guiao. “We anticipate another physical and hard game.”

Guiao also hopes that Sunday’s 105-101 overtime win against Ginebra will be a boost of confidence for the Elasto Painters, who did not get off to a good start in the conference.

“(The Ginebra win) is also something that’s gonna give us confidence. A lot of people are giving up on our import, and the team and myself are the only ones who are still not giving up on him,” said the coach.

“And he showed what he can do in this game,” he added.

RoS reinforcement Wayne Chism, who was highly criticized for his offensive shortcomings, came up with 30 points and 15 rebounds to help power the E-Painters to victory.

Rain or Shine beat Meralco, 96-79, when they played in the elimination round last March 26.

Game time is at 5:45 p.m.
