Marquez wants Pacquiao in Mexico
MANILA, Philippines – If he gets a fourth fight against Manny Pacquiao, Juan Manuel Marquez wants the bout to take place in his own turf.
The Mexican boxer apparently is still hurting over his majority decision loss to Pacquiao last November that he wants the rematch to be held in Mexico.
“I am hoping promoter Fernando Beltran can bring the fourth fight against Pacquiao to Arena Mexico,” said Marquez on Examiner.com.
The question now is if he will be given a fourth fight against Pacquiao.
Pacquiao and Marquez have already figured in 3 controversial fights.
In 2004, Pacquiao scored three first-round knockdowns against Marquez only to settle for a draw.
Four years later, the Filipino champion knocked Marquez down in the third round and secured a split decision win.
Last November, Marquez was close to beating Pacquiao. But the eight-division champion managed to hammer out a majority decision victory.
All of the three fights took place in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Marquez believes he will get a "fair decision" if the fourth fight takes place in Mexico.
