LAS VEGAS, Nevada - The countdown to the Manny Pacquiao-Timothy Bradley rematch has begun as both young and old are burning with excitement.
"Yes, we are [ready], even the baby, she is only three months old," said South Dakota’s Cristy Alano, who brought her child to Las Vegas.
This Japanese boxing fan traveled all the way from his home country to watch the fight first hand.
"He is fighting for a reason and everybody fights for a reason but his reason is much, much bigger,” said Eiji Yoshikawa. “I've been to Mindanao and I've seen how people live there and he is determined to change the world."
Some American fight fans are also rooting for Pacquiao.
"Manny Pacquiao is the best pound for pound," said Jo Mills.
"I think Pacquiao is gonna beat him up really good. I think the last fight he skated by and kind'a think they gave it to Bradley, but I think Pacquiao will put it on this time," said another pro-Pacquiao fan Stanley William.
Meanwhile, Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) chairman, Cisco Aguilar, says that judges went through a thorough process of elimination before the commission was able to narrow it down to three.
"The pressure is intense. These individuals are professionals, they know what they are doing, they've done this in a long time and I am extremely confident of the judges that we did select," said Aguilar.
"We are always excited when we have our championship fighters here in Las Vegas and I feel like the number of times that Pacquiao has fought in Las Vegas, he is part of the culture here, he is part of the boxing community and the boxing world. They all look up to him, they think he is a great fighter. If he wasn’t a great fighter, they (fans) wouldn’t be here to support him," added the NSAC chairman.
In a message to ABS-CBN, referee Kenny Bayless says he expects an exciting high energy Saturday night.
The upcoming Pacquiao-Bradley bout has been one of the most talked about rematches in the history of boxing. As fight night draws near, boxing fans are not only excited, but they are also curious who among the two fighters will win.
