MANILA, Philippines – The camp of Manny Pacquiao made sure that the 8-division former world champion is thoroughly prepared for every trick Timothy Bradley has to offer this weekend.
Buboy Fernandez said the fighting congressman knows what to do if the defending WBO welterweight champion decides to back-pedal and run.
"Two weeks ago pa, meron na kaming panagot sa running style ni Bradley,” Fernandez, Pacquiao’s bestfriend and longtime co-trainer, told Philboxing.com's Eddie Alinea.
If Bradley decides to slug it out, Pacquiao has an answer for that, too.
“If he decides na makipagsabayan, mas maganda sa amin yan. Me sagot na rin kami doon," said Fernandez. "Nakalatag na lahat ang plano. It's only a matter of polishing them in our last week of preparation.”
Team Pacquiao wrapped up its training camp in Los Angeles and went to Las Vegas, Nevada, where the fight will take place.
The fighting congressman will spend the final week of his training in Las Vegas before his 12-round collision against Bradley.
"The toughest part of the camp is over," said boxing coach Freddie Roach. "Manny has completely recovered from the sinus infection he suffered a week ago and now we can all relax and look forward to maintaining what we've gained from the 10-week job at Pacquiao's hometown General Santos City."
Pacquiao, for his part, said he’s ready to rumble.
"The camp was excellent. Mahirap, but as the Filipino saying goes, pag may hirap, may ginhawa. Everything went perfect. Settled down na ako at masaya. I cannnot ask for more," he said. "I'm in tip-top shape. Kondisyong-kondisyon na and raring to go."
