MANILA, Philippines -- Some good and bad news for Team Philippines in the Street Child World Cup in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The Girls will advance to the semifinals after a stellar performance against England, 6-0.

They will next face Mozambique.

But, it's the end of the road for the Boys team in the quarterfinals.

Philippines and Pakistan went to extra time after drawing 1-all, but the Filipinos lost 3-2 on penalties.

"The girls are nursing a few knocks but should be good for the Semi Finals. The boys played brilliantly. Their attitudes were great and they did everything we asked of them. We may have edged the game slightly but it went to the lottery of penalties and congratulations to Pakistan. Was a very good game and we're proud of the boys," said the team management in squad’s official Facebook page.
