MANILA, Philippines – Filipina mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Jujeath Nagaowa, who will be making her ONE FC debut on May 2, guarantees she is more motivated to fight now that she has parted ways with her boxer boyfriend.
“I’m inspired 10 times now that he’s no longer around,” said the former WBC Asia atomweight champion. “Naka-move on na ko.”
Nagaowa was supposed to make her ONE FC debut last December against Malaysia’s Siti Syahida Binte Adek, but the bout was scrapped at the last minute.
Her relationship was reportedly interfering in her training.
This time, Nagaowa will be battling Indian kickboxing champion Jeet Toshi at "ONE FC: Rise of Heroes on May 2."
She said she is not taking Toshi lightly, even joining a new gym, Makati-based Team Insider, to prepare for the Indian.
“Magaling din sya pero kakayanin ko,” said Nagaowa. “May training program na binigay sa akin yung gym ko sa laban ko na ito.”
