MANILA, Philippines – Boxing trainer Roger Mayweather is guaranteeing that his nephew, undefeated American superstar Floyd Mayweather Jr., will defeat Puerto Rican boxer Miguel Cotto by knockout when they meet on May 5 in Las Vegas.

In an interview with Boxing Scene, "Uncle Roger" said Cotto is no different from Mayweather’s most recent victim, Victor Ortiz.

"He ain't no different than Victor Ortiz. Floyd will stop him. I guarantee you he will stop him," Roger said.

Mayweather knocked out Ortiz in the fourth round of their bout last September via what many called a "legal sucker punch."

Roger is not expecting Floyd to encounter much trouble against Cotto, either.

"My nephew will walk through his (expletive)," Roger said in a separate interview with Boxing Socialist. "He will be lucky if it goes six rounds. I would be surprised if it went that long."

The undefeated boxer won’t even bother to watch game tapes of Cotto, Roger said.

"Floyd ain't got to watch film to beat Cotto's (expletive). I've been watching film on Cotto in the past, I've seen him fight, I will tell Floyd what I see and we go from there, but he won't even need that (expletive) because I know he seen it already," Roger said.

The trainer claimed that Floyd is already well-prepared for the upcoming fight, even if it is still more than a month away.

"The reason why Floyd's in better shape in this camp is that Floyd is fighting so soon... He's more prepared now because he just fought a little while ago," Roger said, referring to his nephew's fight against Ortiz.

"He's more sharp. I already know what Floyd's going to do. Cotto ain't (expletive), Floyd's going to stop him," he added.
