MANILA, Philippines – The Talk 'N Text Tropang Texters are aiming for a sixth consecutive victory when they take on the Barangay Ginebra Kings in the PBA Commissioners Cup Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Texters, who lost to San Mig Super Coffee in the quarter-finals of the Philippine Cup, have been on a roll, winning their first five assignments of the conference, including a 91-68 demolition of Meralco last Friday.

TNT head coach Norman Black said they are targeting a top two finish this conference after flaming out in the previous one.

“Whatever success we’re having now, we want to continue that. It’s important for us to get as many wins as we can and get the top two,” Black said in the league website. “It’s the only advantage you’ll have in the format of this tournament.”

Meanwhile, Ginebra is trying to win its third game of the conference after amassing a 2-2 record in its first four games.

They snapped a two-game skid last Friday by beating GlobalPort, 113-107, behind a 33-point effort from import Leon Rodgers.

“We’ve regrouped after back-to-back losses to San Miguel and San Mig Coffee. We hope to sustain whatever gain we’ve had as we play Talk ‘N Text,” Ginebra coach Ato Agustin said.

Game time is at 5:15 p.m.
