MANILA – Barangay Ginebra and GlobalPort will try to break their respective slumps when they clash at the PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Friday night at the Cuneta Astrodome.

The Gin Kings will attempt to snap a two-game skid when they square off with the Batang Pier at 8 p.m.

Barangay Ginebra holds a 1-2 record with their import Leon Rodgers, who is currently being re-evaluated by team management, according to the league’s official website.

There are reports that the Gin Kings will be bringing in two-time PBA Best Import Gabe Freeman to replace Rodgers.

Ginebra board representative Robert Non, however, dismissed the speculations.

GlobalPort, on the other hand, is trying to save itself from a 0-4 free-fall.

Batang Pier coach Pido Jarencio said the team is still working on its cohesion after recently acquiring Ronnie Matias and Carlo Sharma from Air21.

“Binubuo pa ang chemistry, pero mabubuo rin yan,” he said.
