MANILA, Philippines – Air21 coach Franz Pumaren said they will need to contain import Joshua Dollard if they want to win against Barako Bull on Friday.
The 6'5" Dollard is currently the top scoring import in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup with an average of 44.5 points and 18.5 rebounds per game.
“He’s the barometer of the imports right now,” said Pumaren in the PBA website. “He’s a big headache for any opposing team.”
The Express will meet Dollard and the rest of the Energy Colas in the 5:45 p.m. game.
Pumaren also hopes their reinforcement, Herve Lamizana, will be at peak condition by Friday night.
Despite a long layoff since his stint in the Chinese league last November, Lamizana norms 20 points and 12.5 rebounds per game.
Both Air21 and Barako Bull own a 1-1 record.
For his part, Barako Bull coach Bong Ramos said they need to be in complete focus against the Express.
“In order for us to build our momentum, we need to get a positive result with our game against Air21,” said Ramos.
