Pacquiao arrives in Los Angeles
MANILA, Philippines – Filipino boxing icon Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao arrived in Los Angeles Saturday evening (Sunday morning in Manila) to continue his training camp for his April 12 rematch against undefeated Timothy Bradley Jr.
Pacquiao arrived at the Los Angeles International Airport on board Philippines Airlines flight 102.
Pacquiao and his team will hold the rest of training camp at the Wild Card gym in Hollywood, after holding the first half of camp at the boxer’s own gym in General Santos City.
“We had a great camp in the Philippines, and Manny, as usual, is way ahead of schedule in his conditioning, and very motivated,” said chief trainer Freddie Roach in a PhilBoxing report.
“The real business begins for us on Monday at the Wild Card. We have great sparring waiting for Manny,” he added.
Pacquiao is challenging Bradley for the WBO welterweight belt, which the American won when he controversially defeated Pacquiao in June 2012.
“(Manny) wants that title back,” Roach said. “If Bradley thinks he’s going to see the compassionate Manny he saw the first time they fought, he is in for a very big surprise.”
