MANILA, Philippines – Import Joshua Dollard stood out again for Barako Bull as the Energy completed a 110-106 upset of the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Sunday afternoon at the Araneta Coliseum.

After scoring 45 points in his PBA debut, Dollard fired 44 points and grabbed 19 rebounds to power Barako Bull past RoS, the losing finalists in the recent Philippine Cup.

With the victory, Barako Bull bounced back from their 104-108 loss to Ginebra last week and hiked their record to 1-1.
Rain or Shine, meanwhile, lost in its Commissioner’s Cup debut.

E-Painters coach Yeng Guiao had expressed his wariness of Dollard ahead of the game, noting that the import is “not just a scorer but efficient as well.”

“Their import will be the focal point of our defense,” Guiao said, but his players were unable to stop the prolific reinforcement as Dollard led four Barako players in double figures.

RoS import Alexander McLean led the E-Painters with 21 points.

The scores:

BARAKO BULL 110 – Dollard 44, Miller 19, Miranda 13, Buenafe 11, Pennisi 9, Intal 7, Lastimosa 2, Wilson 2, Marcelo 2, Isip 1, Jensen 0, Fortuna 0, Pena 0.
