Lindsay Stalzer sparked a third-set rally to lead Petron past Generika-Ayala, 25-21, 25-15, 25-21, in the Philippine Superliga (PSL) Grand Prix at Malolos Sports and Convention Center in Bulacan on Tuesday.
Stalzer registered all of her 20 points from the attack zone to tow the Blaze Spikers to another impressive victory.
With the win, Petron tightened its hold of the lead in the standings with a 5-0 record as it kept Generika winless in 3 games.
Hillary Hurley chipped in 11 kills, two aces and a block for 14 points.
After dominating the first two sets, Petron found itself in trouble as Generika-Ayala entered the first technical timeout with a wide lead, 8-2.
The Blaze Spikers then labored to knot the count at 16-all in the second technical timeout.
Then Stalzer took over, as the Illinois native shattered an 18-all deadlock with 3 sharp smashes to capture a 22-18 advantage.
Symone Hayden nailed 14 points while Darlene Ramdin and Angeli Araneta contributed 10 apiece for the Lifesavers.
In the second game, Foton needed 5 sets to beat a tough Smart PrePaid squad, 25-21, 20-25, 29-27, 15-25, 12-15.
Elizabeth Ann Wendel led the Tornadoes with 13 attacks 4 blocks and 2 aces.
