MANILA, Philippines – NLEX guard Kiefer Ravena has a slim lead over Alaska's Jeron Teng in the race for Rookie of the Year honors at the end of the PBA Philippine Cup elimination round.
Ravena, the No. 2 pick in the 2017 PBA Draft, is 24th among all players with 27 average statistical points, as he normed 15.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.9 steals per game for the Road Warriors during the eliminations.
Meanwhile, Teng is in close pursuit. The former De La Salle University forward and No. 5 overall pick tallied 25.2 average SPs, thanks to averages of 13.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game for the Aces.
The two young stars will go head-to-head in the PBA Philippine Cup playoffs as their teams figure in a best-of-three quarterfinals series.
Phoenix's Jason Perkins is third in the Rookie of the Year race with 22.3 average SPs after norming 10.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game.
Raymar Jose of Blackwater is in fourth place, with his averages of 9.1 points and 5.9 rebounds per game leading to 20.3 average SPs.
In distant fifth, meanwhile, is Robert Herndon of Magnolia whose averages of 5.0 points and 2.7 rebounds per game gave him 15.8 average SPs.
