The Brooklyn Nets are set to sign center Jason Collins to a second consecutive 10-day contract.
League sources told Yahoo! Sports that when Collins' contract expires Tuesday, he will sign a new 10-day deal on Wednesday.
But after two consecutive 10-day contracts, rules mandate that the Nets must sign Collins for the rest of the season or let him go.
Collins, whose numbers could use a boost, is the first openly gay player in northern American major professional sports history.
