MANILA, Philippines – San Mig Coffee coach Tim Cone credited the team's fans for helping boost their PBA Philippine Cup campaign which saw the Mixers winning the title against the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters.

It was an arduous journey to the finals for the Mixers who had to battle from a 1-5 win-loss card in the eliminations before getting through a seven-game semifinal showdown with Barangay Ginebra.

In the finals, San Mig Coffee lost the series opener to Rain or Shine before eventually stringing together four victories to win the Philippine Cup.

Cone said that his record 16th PBA crown would not have been possible if not for the constant motivation of their ardent supporters.

“I think the most exciting thing for me is when we we're 1 and 5, and we were 3 and 6,” he said following the title win. “I have a Twitter account and all over Twitter everybody was saying 'It's okay coach, we believe in you, we believe in the team, you'll come back,' there's so much support.”

“And because of that we didn't doubt ourselves and we found a way and here we are we worked really, really hard.”

San Mig Coffee finished their race-to-four series with Rain or Shine on Wednesday by taking Game 6 via a 93-87 victory.

The win helped Cone surpass Baby Dalupan’s record for most PBA title wins.
