Nonito "The Filipino Flash"Donaire Jr.'s April 23 title defense against Hungarian challenger Zsolt Bedak has been moved to the Cebu City Sports Complex.

Philboxing's Ronnie Nathanielsz reported that he was informed by ALA Promotions president Michael Aldeguer about the change of venue for the WBO super bantamweight title fight, which was initially slated at the historic Araneta Coliseum.

Top Rank promoter Bob Arum is planning to attend the bout, which is a joint promotion between Top Rank, ALA Promotions, and ABS-CBN.

Donaire, meanwhile, said they are trying to cover everything in training just in case Bedak tries to outbox him.

“[Bedak] is an overall fighter. He’s got speed and pretty decent power if he wants to but he’s more of a technical fighter than anything. They want to beat you by points but we won’t allow this. We know what we have to do,” said the Filipino Flash.

Donaire, a five-division champion, has been studying the Hungarian’s fight tapes.

“He’s a tough guy, a capable guy but we have faith that with my Dad (who is also Nonito’s trainer) we’ll come up with the best game-plan.”
