MANILA, Philippines – Rain or Shine threatened to cut Game 6 short when they walked out in the second quarter of their ongoing PBA Philippine Cup finals match against San Mig Coffee at the Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday.
The Elasto Painters were down 17-30 early in the second frame, when their coach, Yeng Guiao, called the team to walk out after his player JR Quinahan was called for a foul 11:39 minutes in that quarter.
The players eventually emerged from their dugout and returned to the game after PBA Commissioner Chito Salud talked to the Rain or Shine team owners.
Guiao and the Elasto Painters were issued a warning by the game officials for delaying the game.
Rain or Shine is trying to come back from a 2-3 series deficit against San Mig Coffee in their best-of-seven title series.
A win by the Mixers on Wednesday night will earn them the PBA Philippine Cup title.
