Air21, GlobalPort tote new recruits in Commissioner's Cup opener

MANILA, Philippines – Newly tooled Air21 Express will get to show off their new acquisitions when they clash against a revamped GloBalPort Batang Pier squad at the opening day of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup on March 5.

According the league website, the Express will be parading new recruit Jonas Villanueva, whom they acquired from Barako Bull, and 6-foot-10 Ivorian reinforcement Herve Lamizana when they meet the Batang Pier.

GlobalPort, on the other hand, will have a new coach with former University of Sto. Tomas mentor Pido Jarencio at the helm.

Also suiting up for the Batang Pier are former Petron Booster Alex Cabagnot and ex-Air21 player Bonbon Custodio. Former Barako Bull import Evan Brock will serve as their import.

Game time between Air21 and GlobalPort will be at 5:45 p.m.

Meanwhile, defending champion Alaska Aces and the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters will meet at the 8 p.m. main game.

Alasa will be reinforced by Rob Dozier, while Talk ‘N Text will be leaning on Richard Howell.
