MANILA, Philippines – An explosive match is expected when the University of Sto. Tomas (UST) Tigresses and the National University (NU) Lady Bulldogs battle for the last Final Four spot in the UAAP Season 75 women’s volleyball tournament.

The Tigresses and the Lady Bulldogs, with identical 8-6 win-loss records at the end of the elimination round, will face off Wednesday afternoon at the San Juan Arena.

The Lady Bulldogs, powered by Most Valuable Player candidate DinDin Santiago, stayed in contention for a Final Four slot after surprising the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws in just three sets last Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Tigresses had a chance to clinch a semi-finals spot but succumbed to the Ateneo Lady Eagles in three sets in their second-round match last Sunday.

NU and UST split their two elimination matches, with the Lady Bulldogs pulling off an upset in the first round and the Tigresses getting their revenge in the second round.

The winner of the NU-UST playoff will battle top-seeded defending champions De La Salle, with the Lady Spikers holding a twice-to-beat advantage.

Game time is at 2:00 p.m.
