MANILA, Philippines – A neck and back injury has forced Canadian fighter Rory MacDonald to withdraw from his scheduled rematch against former welterweight contender Carlos Condit in UFC 158.

"Unfortunately late last week during a training session, Rory suffered a severe neck and back strain," MacDonald's manager Lex McMahon said in MMA Fighting

With MacDonald out, the UFC has decided to pit Condit against Johny Hendricks, according to sources cited by MMA Fighting.

The two will fight on the undercard of UFC 158, which will feature Georges St-Pierre vs. Nick Diaz.

MacDonald, who outclassed BJ Penn last December, was raring to get back at Condit.

Condit won their first meeting by stopping MacDonald in three rounds.

"Rory is very upset that he will not be able to face Carlos Condit at UFC 158 but is looking forward to getting back to training as soon as possible and fighting the UFC's top competition," said McMahon.
