Adamson one game away from sweep in UAAP softball

MANILA – The Adamson University Lady Falcons moved closer to a fourth consecutive perfect softball season after routing National University, 11-3, in six innings in Game One of the UAAP Season 76 softball finals Tuesday at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

The Lady Falcons extended their unbeaten run to 47 games despite struggling early in the game.

Clariz Palma belted a grand slam homer at the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 3-3 tie, and the Lady Falcons never looked back.

Palma also had five RBIs, while Analie Benjamen scored a homerun in the second inning and had three RBIs for the Lady Falcons.

Adamson also drew two strikeouts from reigning Most Valuable Player Rizza Bernardino and Julie Muco.

The Lady Falcons will try to clinch its 13th overall UAAP crown on Friday.
