MANILA – Defending champions National University (NU) Bulldogs secured the first twice-to-beat advantage in the UAAP Season 76 men’s volleyball Final Four after sweeping the University of the East (UE) Red Warriors Wednesday at the Arena in San Juan.

Three players were in double digits for NU as they cruised to a 25-20, 25-18, and 25-18 victory in just a little over an hour over UE.

Rueben Inaudito had 13 points, Berlin Paglinawan scored 12, and last season’s Finals MVP Peter Torres added 10 points for the Bulldogs, who hiked their record to 11-2 and rebounded from a loss to De La Salle University in their previous game.

UE, meanwhile, remains winless at 0-13. No player scored in double figures for the Red Warriors, who only had 23 attack points to 40 by NU.

In another game, La Salle downed Adamson University in four sets to forge a tie for fourth place, with both teams now toting a 7-6 win-loss card.

La Salle defeated Adamson, 25-19, 25-21, 21-25, and 25-18 in just over an hour and 30 minutes.

Red Christensen had 23 points for the Green Spikers and Raymark Woo added 22 points, and La Salle’s blocking was on point throughout the game as they scored 15 block points to only seven by the Falcons.

Michael Sudaria had 21 points for Adamson.

La Salle has now won four consecutive games.
