MANILA – GlobalPort is taking its chances with former Barako Bull import Evan Brock when it begins its campaign in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup next month.

Brock, who used to play with the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA, is flying in on February 20 to join the Batang Pier, according to the PBA website.

The 6-foot-9 import averaged 21.18 points and 16 rebounds with the Energy Cola when he was replaced by former LA Laker DJ Mbenga during the 2013 Commissioner’s Cup.

Meanwhile, Rain or Shine, which will meet San Mig Coffee in the Philippine Cup finals, has decided to hire 6-foot-9 Alex McLean, who is smaller compared to their former import, 7-foot-4 Bruno Sundov.

McLean is already a veteran of overseas campaigns in Canada, Lebanon, Iraq, China, Qatar and Egypt.

Other imports who are already in Manila for the Commissioner’s Cup are Alaska’s Rob Dozier, Air21’s Herve Lamizana, San Mig Coffee’s James Mays and Talk 'N Text’s Richard Howell.

The Commissioner’s Cup will begin on March 7.
