MANILA – Filipino flyweight contender Milan “El Metodico” Melindo is lined up for a fight against top Indonesian fighter Tommy Seran in the undercard of Brian Viloria’s WBO title defense on April 6.
According to Ronnie Nathanielsz’s Boxing Scene report, the undefeated Melindo will take on Seran even as he waits for his mandatory title shot against Viloria.
ALA promotions president Michael Aldeguer, however, said Melindo has a tough assignment in Seran, who successfully defended his WBO Asia Pacific light flyweight interim title against Fernando Ocon last November.
The 29-year-old Indonesian has a record of 23 wins against one defeat with 14 knockouts.
Melindo, on the other hand, holds an immaculate record of 28 wins with no defeat.
In the main event, Viloria will defend his title against Mexico’s Juan Francisco Estrada.
The card takes place in Macau on April 6 and will be aired locally by ABS-CBN.
