MANILA, Philippines – A new-look Barangay Ginebra takes the PBA stage for the first time when they play the Air21 Express in their first game of the Commissioner’s Cup Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum.

The perennial crowd favorites will feature new head coach Alfrancis Chua, who took over from Siot Tanquingcen prior to the conference.

With Mark Caguioa still the centerpiece of the franchise, Chua is looking to bring in a more “freewheeling” style to Ginebra, according to a report from the league website

The new coach is also hoping to get a good performance from import Herbert Hill.

“Mahina, pero mahirap naman maghanap ng kapalit. Meron na sana kaming prospect, kaso napapirma sa NBA,” Chua lamented

Meanwhile, the Air21 Express will feature import Michael Dunigan, who played for the Memphis Grizzlies in the NBA pre-season.

Game time is at 6:30 p.m.

In the first game of the double-header, the Barako Bull Energy and the GlobalPort Batang Pier look to sustain their good start to the season when they take on each other at 4:15 p.m.

Barako and GlobalPort both registered upset victories in their season-opening games, against San Mig Coffee and Petron Blaze, respectively.
