MANILA, Philippines – Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has signed Team Lakay fighter Mark Eddiva to become the second home-grown Pinoy to fight for the biggest mixed martial arts (MMA) promotions company.
According to Team Lakay’s Facebook page, the 27-year-old Eddiva will make his UFC debut on March 1.
“Team Lakay's MARK EDDIVA has signed with the UFC: Ultimate Fighting Championship and will be having his debut fight in The Ultimate Fighter: China Finale on March 1, 2014 at the Cotai Arena at the Venetian Hotel in Macau!” Team Lakay announced.
Eddiva, who fought as a featherweight at Legend Fighting Championship, is undefeated in five professional MMA fights. He was a former member of the Philippine wushu team and won a silver and a gold medal in the Southeast Asian Games in 2009 and 2011, respectively.
His teammate Dave Galera was the first Lakay fighter to sign with the UFC.
