MANILA, Philippines – The Powerade Tigers and the Petron Blaze Boosters are waiting for PBA Commissioner Chito Salud to approve a deal that will send Powerade's Marcio Lassiter to Petron in exchange for Nonoy Baclao and Rey Guevarra.
According to PBA.ph, the Tigers and Boosters have already formalized the deal and sent the trade documents to the Commissioner's Office last Tuesday.
If the deal is approved, Lassiter will be reunited with former Smart Gilas teammate Chris Lutz, while 2010 draft picks Baclao and Guevarra will bolster the Powerade roster.
"We received (the trade proposal) at around 1:20 p.m. (Tuesday). It will be reviewed by the commissioner once he gets back from his Japan trip," PBA media bureau chief Willie Marcial said.
Salud is currently out of the country.
Lassiter was the No. 4 pick in the 2011 PBA Rookie Draft and helped the Powerade Tigers make the Finals of the recently concluded Philippine Cup.
Lutz, meanwhile, was vital in the Boosters’ run to the conference semi-finals.
