Renaldo Balkman scored 30 points, including the game-winning layup, as San Miguel Alab Pilipinas defeated Thailand club Mono Vampire 86-84 in the ASEAN Basketball League at Baliuag Star Arena in Bulacan on Wednesday.

With the game tied less than 20 seconds left in the game, Alab called for a clear-out for Justin Brownlee, who has made a name for himself as a big-shot maker.

But Brownlee instead went to Balkman on a pick-and-roll, bouncing off a low-angle, pinpoint pass to Balkman for a layup over the arms of 7-foot-4 Maltese player Samuel Deguara.

Brownlee capped the cardiac win with a block on Mono Vampire's Michael Singletary attempting a corner 3-pointer.

Balkman also finished with 13 rebounds, 5 steals and 3 blocks for Alab, which won its sixth straight to raise its record to 9-4 and grab solo third place from Mono Vampire, which dropped to 9-5.

Brownlee stuffed the boxscore with 16 points, 12 rebounds, 8 assists, 5 blocks and 4 steals. Ray Parks Jr. added 10 points.

Alab held an 84-79 lead entering the game's final minute, but the visitors still had some fight left in them.

Point-guard Jason Brickman scored on a tough basket, then he set up Michael Singletary for a 3-pointer to tie the game at 84-all with 19 seconds remaining.
