MANILA – Rain or Shine coach Yeng Guiao insisted that his outbursts that led to his ejection during their games against Petron Blaze were caused by poor officiating.

Guiao, who was suspended and fined for flashing a dirty finger at game officials in Game 4, also pointed out that he is not alone in noticing the alleged bad calls made by PBA referees.

"Nobody is happy with the officiating - it's not only me," he said in a report. "The real issue here is officiating and it should not be dismissed because it's a public issue."

"Officiating should be made an issue and it should constantly be on the spotlight. That's the only way assure fair officiating and prevent the referees from deciding the outcome of games," he added.

The mercurial Guiao has been ejected during Games 3 and 4 in their semifinals series against Petron due to his vehement protests, resulting in technical fouls.

The coach was suspended for one game due to his actions and was also fined P100,000.

As a result, he won’t be present at the Rain or Shine bench in Game 5 on Friday.

"Sabi ko nga sa kanya (PBA Commissioner Chito Salud), 'Paano 'yan, Kom. Pilay na nga si Paul at basag pa ilong ni Jervy. Kapag nawala pa ako, parang binigay mo na sa Petron ang laro,'" Guiao said, referring to players Paul Lee and Jervy Cruz.

"Pero sabi n'ya, ganyan daw talaga."
