MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) announced its support for Filipino female memory athletes who are competing at the 2013 Welsh Open Memory Championships on March 30 in South Wales.

PCSO chairperson Margarita Juico said they support Mary Sharmaine Deldio-Dianquinay and Princess Grace Neri-Mendoza, who are both members of the PH Memory Team that won gold, silver and bronze medals in the 2012 Thailand International Open in July, the 2012 Australian Memory Open in November and the 2012 London World Memory Championships in December.

The team already has two Filipino male Grand Masters (GM) of Memory, and other male players have already gained GM norms.

"This time, our goal is to produce the first female GM of Memory in the upcoming Welsh championships," said Juico.

Aside from supporting the Philippine Memory Team, the PCSO also gives grants to individual Filipino athletes and teams competing in international tournaments, including track and field, cycling, gymnastics, boxing, tennis, body building and golf. -- By Marlon Bernardino
