MANILA, Philippines – Cameroonian big man Ingrid Sewa continued to show his A-game for the Adamson University Falcons, who routed the College of St. Benilde-A Blazers, 76-54, in the ongoing 9th Fr. Martin Collegiate Open.
The 6-foot-10 Sewa fired 22 points for the Falcons, who remain unbeaten in five games in the tournament.
The Falcons moved a game closer to completing a six-game sweep of Group B and they are now assured of one of the two quarterfinal slots, along with the Arellano University Chiefs (5-1).
Meanwhile, the Informatics Icons defeated the University of Perpetual Help-B Altas, 72-56, behind the 24 points of Joseph Marquez.
Paolo Taha fired 14 points for the College of St. Benilde-B Blazers, who defeated Lyceum 58-49.
The Icons finished third in Group B with a 4-2 record, and will meet the sixth-placed Mapua Cardinals this Sunday in the wildcard phase.
UPHSD-A (4-2) will play the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons in the other wildcard encounter.
In Group A, the Letran Knights and the defending champions San Beda Red Lions (4-1) have already advanced to the quarterfinals.
