MANILA, Philippines – When Floyd Mayweather Jr. asked fight fans on social media to choose his next opponent from either Amir Khan or Marcos Maidana, some came up with a different answer.

A considerable number of fans told the undefeated American boxer to man up and fight Manny Pacquiao.

“I think you are a true warrior why don't you give the people what they really want you and Pacman,” replied Squeaky Poulson.

“He's letting us 'decide'... no he's not... he's giving us a choice... if we were to 'decide,' it would be Pac-Man,” said Jason Rosa.

“Stop taking the easy fight and fight the man that will give u a fight. Forget about the money and become the ultimate champion and fight PAC man it what the world really wants. You are a champion now prove your the ultimate champion,” said Brad O'Brien.

“None of them I believe Floyd is a beast but until he fights Paquiao, he won't be the best on my list,” posted Hector Gomez.

But Pacquiao won’t be able to fight Mayweather soon as he already signed up to face Timothy Bradley in a rematch for the WBO welterweight title. That fight will take place on April 12.

Mayweather, on the other hand, is looking for an opponent for a May 3 fight date.

Not everyone favored a Pacquiao-Mayweather fight.

There are those who claimed that Pacquiao doesn’t deserve to be in the same ring with Mayweather.

“Pacman don't deserve to fight the pound for pound CHAMP,” said William Harris.

“PAC is an easy fight considering the last guy he fought was a nobody and 2, fight him now after having 2 losses out of 3 fights isn't worth the time,” commented Shaun Garcia.

Other fans preferred a Mayweather fight against either Gennady Golovkin or Danny Garcia.

Mayweather's poll has already garnered over 27,000 likes and at least 15,000 comments as of posting time.
