MANILA, Philippines – Che'Lu Bar&Grill-San Sebastian College leaned on its veteran players late to pull off an 83-79 win over AMA Online Education on Thursday in the PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Ex-pro Samboy de Leon delivered seven of his 21 points in the fourth quarter, while also collecting six rebounds and two assists, as the Revellers bounced back from an 83-82 loss to Wangs Basketball-Letran last Monday.

Michael Calisaan provided stability inside the paint, finishing with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Alfred Batino had 11 points and 11 boards to help Che'Lu battle back from an early 14-point deficit, 7-21.

"We were supposed to lose, with the way we played the game," said coach Stevenson Tiu, who was clearly disappointed with his team's slow start.

"Every game, laging slow start kami," he lamented. "Kahit anong adjustment, ganoon pa rin kaya hindi namin makuha 'yung rhythm namin."

"We just had the decision to go to the veterans. Thankfully, nag-respond naman sila."

RK Ilagan made six of his 11 attempts from beyond the arc to finish with a team-high 22 points for Che'Lu on top of five rebounds and four assists.

The Revellers improved to 2-1, while handing AMA to their third loss in a row. The Titans have yet to win in the conference.

Robbie Manalang had a tremendous effort in his debut for AMA, finishing with 28 points, three rebounds, and two assists in the losing effort.

Genmar Bragais added 16 markers and 13 boards, while Carlo Escalambre had 13 points and five rebounds for the Titans.
