MANILA, Philippines – UFC president Dana White said he regrets that Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and the mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion have parted ways.

"He just walked out right now and screamed, 'You are going to miss me,'" White said in BoxingScene.com referring to Jackson's coment following his UFC fight. "I said, 'I miss you already buddy.'”

He said Jackson should blame himself for not fulfilling his full potential.

The future MMA hall-of-famer nearly gassed out in his last UFC fight against Brazil’s Glover Teixeira over the weekend.

Jackson ended up taking a unanimous decision defeat.

"I kind of wish I fought smart and didn't get hit so much, but I always said I would rather lose a good fight than win a boring one and the fans are telling me that was an exciting fight. So I guess I'm sad but not so sad. I fought like Rampage tonight," said Jackson.

“Rampage's biggest problem is that he doesn't always train. He doesn't always stay in shape. If he took this sport 100 percent, hardcore, serious, God knows what that guy would be able to accomplish, but he doesn't," said White.

Rampage has refused to re-negotiate his contract with the UFC, claiming that the MMA promotion has been mistreating its fighters.

“[The UFC] offered to renegotiate the contract but I didn’t want to. I don’t want to renegotiate with them. I think the UFC don’t know how to treat their athletes, in my opinion. The fighters, I feel like we do a lot for this sport and I just feel like we’re not taken care of. I feel like they’re getting rich off of us,” Jackson earlier said in Sports Illustrated

However, White said Jackson has earned millions while fighting in the UFC.

“Rampage, since 2007, has made $15.2M in the UFC,” the UFC president said in Bloody Elbow

“I don't know why he's taking this approach. If you want to be mad at me and mad at the UFC, feel however you feel,” said White. “I feel like I've done right by Rampage. I feel like I've done right for him.”
