MANILA, Philippines – The University of Sto. Tomas (UST) Tigresses hope to rebound from a deflating loss when they take on the winless University of the East (UE) Lady Warriors in the second round of the UAAP Season 75 women’s volleyball tournament Wednesday at the San Juan Arena.

The Tigresses are coming off a shocking straight-sets loss to defending champion De La Salle, a game that saw them get dominated by the Lady Spikers’ sensational net defense.

No UST player scored in double figures in their last game as La Salle tallied 15 points off blocks.

Veterans Maika Ortiz, Maru Banaticla and team captain Judy Caballejo are all expected to bounce back from subpar performances against the Lady Warriors, who have yet to win a game in Season 75.

The Lady Warriors are coming off a straight sets loss at the hands of the Adamson Lady Falcons last Sunday.

A win over UE will give UST a 6-4 record, and allow them to tie Far Eastern University for fourth place.

In the second game, La Salle will gun for a Final Four berth against the Lady Falcons.

After losing their season opener against UST, the Lady Spikers have won eight matches in a row, including a five-set thriller over rival Ateneo in their last game of the first round.

Adamson, meanwhile, remain in contention for a semi-finals berth as well with a 6-3 record.
