MANILA – Newly appointed Ginebra coach Alfrancis Chua said they will need to quickly win many games given the short format of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

“Maikli lang yung next conference kaya kailangan, ratrat agad,” Chua said in a PBA report by Snow badua.

The import-flavored conference will feature a single-round robin format with every team getting nine games each.

The two lowest-ranked squads will be eliminated, while the top two teams will get twice-to-beat bonuses against the Number 7 and 8 squads in the quarterfinals.

The Number 3 team battles Number 6 in a best-of-three playoffs, while the Number 4 will square off against the Number 5 team.

The top 4 teams will advance to a best-of-five semifinal series.

The finals series will be a best-of-seven showdown between the top two squads.

“Bawat laro importante, hindi pwedeng magpa-petik petik,” said Chua, whose team finished sixth in the PBA Philippine Cup.
