Wesley So 4th-6th place in Tata Steel stint

Filipino Grandmaster Wesley So halved the point with Italian GM Fabiano Caruana to finish in a tie for fourth to sixth places in the 2014 Tata Steel Masters tournament at Wijk Aan Zee, the Netherlands last Sunday.

So agreed to a truce with Caruana after 31 moves of Gruenfeld defense.

So, Caruana and Cuban GM Lenier Dominguez of Cuba each had six points after 11 rounds.

Top-seed Armenian GM Levon Aronian won the tournament with eight points despite losing to Dutch GM Loek van Wely in the final round. Aronian, ranked second in the world, had eight points.

Dutch GM Anish Giri and Russian GM Sergey Karjakin, both tallied 6.5 points, a good for a tie for second to third place. -Marlon Bernardino
