|Manny Pacquiao is waiting for a response from Floyd Mayweather Jr. regarding the 'charity match'.
MANILA, Philippines – The brash Floyd Mayweather Jr. remains mum on Manny Pacquiao’s dare to meet inside the boxing ring for a charity match.
Mayweather, who has engaged Pacquiao in a “social media war” during the holidays, has yet to give his side following the Filipino’s challenge.
He has posted a “funny” meme of Pacquiao frantically asking for the super fight and even called the Filipino a “desperate dog” for allegedly needing the mega bout to solve his tax woes with the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
In retaliation, the fighting congressman has come up with a suggestion to do away with their disputed purse split.
“I challenge him to include in our fight contract that both of us will not receive anything out of this fight,” Pacquiao said in an Inquirer report.
“We will donate all the proceeds from the fight – guaranteed prize, should there be any, gate receipts, pay-per-view and endorsements – to charities around the world.”
But Mayweather’s latest Facebook post hasn’t made mention of Pacquiao’s challenge.
The post, which went online on Friday, showed the American boxer having breakfast at a presidential suite in a Hawaiian hotel.
He also posted a photo of him with a Blake Griffin’s ex-girlfriend Daniella Grace on Shots.me.
“Enjoying The Hawaiian Weather Ran Into @daniellagrace what's up @johnny I'm a goof ball laughing all the way to the bank,” said the caption.
Even boxing website Fight Hype, which has enjoyed a series of exclusive interviews with Mayweather, hasn’t come up with any report on the undefeated American boxer.
It was Richard Schaefer, Mayweather’s boxing promoter, who addressed Pacquiao’s challenge.
Schaefer, CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, claimed that the Filipino superstar’s dare is a product of a desperate mind.
"Desperate people take desperate actions," said Schaefer in a report by RingTV’s Lem Satterfield.
"My good friend Floyd is not desperate, but Pacquiao and his promoter are. Maybe Manny needs a tax write off to solve his tax issues," he said.
