Ateneo continues run in UAAP baseball

MANILA – The Ateneo Blue Batters extended their winning run to six games by dominating Adamson University, 12-1, in Season 75 UAAP Baseball at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium on Thursday.

According to UAAP’s official website, the Katipunan-based sluggers opened the game with two runs courtesy of Adriane Bernardo and Matt Laurel at the start of the second elimination round.

Ateneo padded the lead to 4-0 lead in the second inning and scored 8 more runs in the seventh and the eighth.

Adamson managed to notch its lone run when Nelson Go stepped on the plate in the seventh inning.

The Blue batters remained on top of the standings with 6-0 record, while Adamson is at the bottom with 0-6.

The other two games saw the University of the Philippines (11-6) defeat the University of Sto. Tomas (4-2), 11-6, and defending champion National University (4-2) stopped De La Salle University (2-4), 9-4.
