MANILA, Philippines – Filipino boxer Nonito Donaire was in attendance at the EJ Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio to watch his friend, Batista, make his return to the WWE after a four-year absence on Monday (Tuesday in Manila).
Donaire was in the front row at the WWE RAW event and was approached by Batista after the wrestler thrilled the crowd by using his trademark “Batista Bomb” finishing move on Alberto del Rio.
Batista, who has Filipino roots, briefly embraced Donaire and the two exchanged a few words before he went backstage.
“In full support of my brother Dave Bautista,” Donaire later tweeted, along with a video of the exchange.
Donaire also posted pictures of Batista’s return, as well as pictures of himself with other wrestlers backstage.

Before the show, Batista also posted a picture of himself and Donaire backstage.
Batista left the WWE in 2010 and pursued a career in mixed martial arts, but it never panned out. Last December, the WWE announced that Batista will return and will take part in the Royal Rumble Match.
During the show, Batista confronted Randy Orton, and announced his intention to win the Royal Rumble and headline WrestleMania XXX.
