MANILA, Philippines – San Mig Super Coffee point guard Mark Barroca has been named the PBA Player of the Week after putting on solid performances in the Mixers’ last two games of the elimination round in the Philippine Cup.

Barroca was the best player on the floor for San Mig when the Coffee Mixers routed Petron Blaze and Talk ‘N Text in their last two games that hiked their winning streak to four.

Against the Blaze Boosters, Barroca finished with 19 points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals, leading the Coffee Mixers to a 112-93 rout that allowed them to clinch a spot in the quarter-finals.

In their last game of the season against TNT, Barroca scored 16 points – 12 in the final quarter – to help push the Mixers to a 100-87 win against the three-time defending champions.

Barroca also helped limit Talk 'N Text point guard Jayson Castro in the second half, holding the Gilas Pilipinas mainstay to only four points in the third and fourth quarters after he had already scored 17 in the first half.

Barroca beat out Alaska point guard JV Casio for the weekly award.

The Mixers enter the Philippine Cup quarter-finals with a four-game winning streak. They face off against the Talk 'N Text Tropang Texters in Game 1 of their best-of-three series on Tuesday night at the Mall of Asia Arena.
