MANILA, Philippines – Controversial boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. is already looking at a possible retirement date from boxing.

Mayweather, who has been avoiding that super bout with Manny Pacquiao, announced in a gala dinner in South Africa that he will be having his final fight in 2015.

"September 2015 will be my last," he said in an Associated Press report.

“Money” Mayweather is in a four-city visit to South Africa, where he continued dishing out unfavorable remarks against his Filipino rival.

Mayweather said Pacquiao already had his chance at getting the mega bout when they talked over the phone in January 2012.

The American boxer, however, refused to give in to Pacquiao’s request for a 50-50 split in fight earnings.

When Pacquiao again challenged him to a fight, Mayweather called him a “desperate dog.”

"All of a sudden, he loses to Timothy Bradley, he loses to Marquez ... he has tax problems now. So, two losses and tax problems later, now he all of a sudden wants to say: 'You know what? I'd do anything to make the fight happen,' when he's really saying: 'Floyd, can you help me solve my tax problems, get me out of debt?'" said Mayweather.
