MANILA, Philippines -- Six of the nine members of the Philippine Memory Team were honored Monday at the Regular Monday Program in the Mandaluyong City Hall.
The PH Memory Team finished with a silver medal in the team competition during the 20th World Olympic Memory Championship in Guangzhou, China last December.
Head coach Almario Marlon Bernardino Jr., Johann Randall Abrina, Mark Anthony Castaneda, Roberto Racasa, Erwin Balines and Axelyancey Cowan Tabernilla were feted by Mandaluyong City Mayor Benhur Abalos, Jr.
Not present during the ceremony were Christopher Carandang, Mark Anthony Adarlo and team manager Aurelio de Leon.
Powerhouse China took home the team gold, while Mongolia captured the bronze medal.
A total of 121 competitors from the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Poland, Japan, Uzbekistan, South Africa, India, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Maldives and Indonesia participated in the event. -- By Marlon Bernardino.
