MANILA, Philippines – The Adamson University Lady Falcons were made to work by the National University (NU) Lady Bulldogs, but they still extended their winning streak to 41 games and remained unbeaten in the UAAP Season 76 softball tournament.

The Lady Bulldogs managed to extend the contest to seven innings, but the Lady Falcons were still able to win their seventh straight game this season, 4-1.

NU actually gained the headstart against Adamson when Lovely Dyan Arago drilled an RBI double to the left field that allowed Whellghene Nietes to score.

But that was the best that NU could do as the Lady Falcons, after a scoreless third inning, went to work in the fourth frame.

Rizza Bernardino set the tone with a solo home run with two outs at the bottom of the fourth inning to tie the game at 1-1, before Annalia Benjamen doubled to right that sent home Luzviminda Embudo.

Embudo earlier went on board on a fielding error at shortstop.

There was no stopping Adamson from there. With the bases loaded, Embudo made a base hit to center field that scored Queeny Sabobo and Lorna Adorable for the final 4-1 count.

The loss was the third for NU in seven games, sending them to third spot overall behind the second-running University of Santo Tomas (5-1.)

Meanwhile, the University of the Philippines (UP) needed eight innings to put away De La Salle University, 5-4, and snap a four-game losing skid.

University of the East (UE) also got back on the winning track following a 7-5 victory over Ateneo.

UP and UE are now tied for fourth place with identical 3-4 records, while La Salle and Ateneo are also tied at 1-4.
