Nothing final yet, Pacquiao says

MANILA, Philippines – Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao revealed his preferred opponent for his next bout in April.

No, it's not Ruslan Provodnikov. He doesn't want Robert Guerrero, either.

"Yes, I want to fight Bradley," Pacquiao said in a Philboxing report by Eddie Alinea.

The fighting congressman said he wants to get back at the undefeated American fighter for taking away his WBO welterweight crown on a dubious split decision. That defeat was one of Pacquiao's two losses in 2012.

"[I want the rematch] simply because I want to win back the title he took from me by a questionable decision," said Pacquiao.

The Filipino boxer insisted that the boxing world knows he was the victor in the said fight.

Pacquiao said he dominated Bradley, but the latter was still able to walk away with the victory and the WBO welterweight strap.

“Almost everyone in the world thought I won the fight, so it’s fitting to get back the title for people like me who got robbed of a victory,” he said.

Pacquiao, however, said that nothing is final yet regarding his bout.

He said his promoter, Bob Arum, is still finalizing the details of his next bout. This may include the purse, the location and even the opponent.

“We will still be meeting, my promoter Bob Arum and myself to finally decide on who I will fight,” he said.

“Definitely though, I would insist that Bradley be it. Siguro before the month ends, malalaman na. (Maybe before the month ends, we will know who my opponent is).”

Arum earlier said that they are choosing between Bradley and Provodnikov for Pacquiao’s next bout.

But Guerrero, who is breaking his ties with Golden Boy Promotions, is also trying to enter the picture.
